Visit Our Family Tree! Our Past is What Makes Us Who We Are Today

The History page exists to honor those family members who came before us... those who lived sometimes treacherous lives... those who fought for noble causes... and those who abandoned the security of their lives for the promise of a better life in America.

This page is for those who made us who we are.

We Honor Our Ancestors

Be sure to visit the several places in this website dedicated to the people and places from which we came.

Origins

  1. Surname Origins  This page describes the literal geographical origins of many of our surnames.
  2. Embarkation  This page shows the actual city or town in Europe that our ancestors left in order to start a new life in America.
  3. History of Surnames  This page is a historical description of how we came to have two names.  Did you know that before 1500, almost no one had a last name?  Learn why on this page.
  4. Individual Histories  This is a portion of the Family Tree that delves into the personal histories of some of our more colorful members.  With tales of murder and intrigue, it sometimes reads better than a novel!
  5. Cemeteries  Okay, I realize the morbidity of it all... but a listing of our final resting places is a curiosity to some, but it's rather basic stuff concerning the lives (and deaths) our ancestors.
  6. Headstones  And it gets even worse!

If you have any information about a relative, please use the Revise the Family Tree page to either add an individual or to change the information of an existing individual.

If you possess or have written an Individual History narrative of a long-lost relative's story, please feel free to e-mail it and I will be happy to post it.  (A Notepad, Word, or WordPerfect attachment is okay) I will always welcome more Individual Histories!
